It was 14°F this morning at 6:20am when my alarm went off.

That's about right. 16°F when I checked at 8:00 as mentioned above

We're supposed to get down in the mid teens this week too! I keep hoping it's going to end...stupid Groundhog...

I managed a quick video of Josh playing. If you turn it up loud and listen really closely you can hear his little thrilling noise as he runs into the bathroom and then back into the bedroom.

So awesome to see him doing so well!

The Big Girls wanted the stump & view yesterday afternoon so the Littlies retreated to the coop. This is how they ended up:

It couldn't stay like that of course. no way were the big girls giving up their prime position on the top rail. Down all the Littlies came.
The surprise was Patricia missed out on a spot & roosted in solitary splendour @ one end of the 2nd rail [littlies @ the other] but Regan nabbed a top spot & was giving it up for no~one!

The good news on Patricia is she no longer has a startling red bum or inflamed quill or gland or whatever it was. She is going into the nesting boxes every day but no eggs. I'm rather relieved. If she's finished laying I expect that's healthier for her.

The bad news is Soda rushed out of the coop the other night, dropped a rubber shell @ my feet & rushed back up the stairs so I may have a number of girls starting to age out.

I'm glad to hear that Patricia is improving...that had to be so miserable! I hope everything is well with Soda, how old is she now? Sorry, I can't remember!

They are! My heart is melting tonight. I went into the coop to check that roosting was going ok & Desdemona flew to the coop door @ my shoulder immediately to talk to me. I think she was ratting on the big girls. So I was standing @ the edge of the coop floor, which is about chest height, & Olivia came over & kept cocking her head. Then she flew up onto my shoulder & settled to roost around my neck ~ twice! Obviously she considered me the safest place in the coop. So sweet & so unexpected!

My heart is melting...that's so awesome...I'm so happy that you have such an amazing little tribe!

My OT person has me wearing a compression glove and when I take it off, the swelling is the worst. We are starting to wonder in the x-rays missed something in my hand since they only looked at my wrist. I would post how my wrist looks now but I can't find the spoiler thing

Hey Grammy, That pesky Spoiler thingy is in the "More Options" thingy which is the 3 vertical dots next to the capital T in the top bar . If you click on the 3 dots you'll see the mask icon for in-line spoilers and the crossed out eye icon for plain spoilers.

Don't ask me for the difference, I don't know.

MJ was asking recently. I've had to think about it but I think MJ guessed right; she's nearly 5 & has laid consistently since she arrived so no surprise if she is starting to slow.
