OK, So I've been woggy & the weather's been dreggy & my Campines keep escaping the run. I thought they were just being right royal pains but that may not be the case. I know the girls have been fighting over the nesting boxes & I have 9 layers. Hepzibah, a BR so fairly dominant, won't let the Campines in the coop, let alone a nesting box, while she's there ~ & I will find a Campine running round the place screeching her head off & going frantic. I sometimes find eggs in the old coop but today I realised @ least 1 Campine has found herself a safe nesting spot outside the coop near the feed bins. Two lovely eggs. *sigh*. Lets hope she doesn't try looking for somewhere else now ~ & thank goodness they're not broody types!

This is exactly what I was afraid of... the older gals keeping the youngers from the nests as they are still pretty skittish around them... so... I had hubs build me some new nest boxes.. he came home from work early yesterday and said “let’s make a deal.. if I build your nest boxes today, I go fishing on Sunday” and this was me.. ..... so he whipped them out in record time .. pics to come...

I had hubs build me some new nest boxes.. he came home from work early yesterday and said “let’s make a deal.. if I build your nest boxes today, I go fishing on Sunday” and this was me.. ..... so he whipped them out in record time .. pics to come...

For sure... and not that he needs to trade off every time.. it’s just that his mom fell and his shift has been Friday nights and all day Saturday so we have had little time to get all the things we NEED getting done before fishing can happen... sooo, if he can squeeze one in then he’ll do whatever to be able to do so

So here they are... some of the gals are checking them out.. especially the middles ... and I still have the original three and I removed three others that I had added as I don’t think I’ll need those now that we have these beauties...
