Ribh's D'Coopage

I was wondering how the bathroom was coming along! What are your tiles like? Big or small, coloured or neutral? Hope you don't have to live too long without a washing machine.

Love the crochet! The rugs look amazing! It doesn't look like the usual crochet stitch - is it a special stitch or do I need to fetch my specs again?

Great to see the chooks in the sunshine, beautiful girls.

I will take some pics of the bathroom ...eventually:lol:. The tiles ended up being fairly neutral as our first choices were either unavailable or waaay too expensive. They do have a slight abstract pattern, same style but different shades & shapes for floor & wall. The floor is square & darker, the walls long & whiteish...? Sort of...:hmm Our other walls are wood so whatever we got had to work with that. The lad is only able to work on it part time but he put in BIG hours last weekend to get us a working shower. Thank goodness. I can only stand so much of dirty... Top & tailing doesn't really cut it after a certain point.

It's funny to imagine our grandparents washing that way every day, except for bath day. "Face and arms, feet and legs" was what our Nana used to say.

Eeew... I'm so grateful for running hot water! And proper plumbing!

HAHA!! In high school after gym we did PTA wash downs. Puss, Tits, Ass...

Is this the one you are referring to? It is a waffle stitch. I am going to assume the stitch you are familiar with is the double crochet [shell stitch] you usually see in Granny Squares. This is a variant on that only you work some stitches around the underneath stitch to create the raised effect. It is pretty simple once you work out what you're doing.:gigIt took me some time. I am not very good @ following instructions & it does require some math :( to work out your foundation row for the pattern. The other blanket is just single crochet until I work the border.

Hello friends
I had a car crash today. An elderly chap wasn't paying attention and crashed into me when I was stationary on stretch of road that is usually a fast-moving highway. There was a 5 car pile-up up ahead, so the traffic was backed up. He wasn't paying attention, in my rear view, I saw him looking down instead of looking ahead- maybe at the radio or ac or his phone? Lucky for the car in front of me, I always a leave a long gap between myself and the next car, and when I saw the car behind me was not stopping, I pressed hard on my brakes and didn't run into the next car. But my little car is a goner
:hit
lucky I'm OK - just a soft tissue neck injury I think, but I'll get myself properly checked over tomorrow.
