Ribh's D'Coopage

We had to leave very early this morning for the Drs & audiologists.
Morrigu was still soundly asleep so I made sure she had food & water & was out of any drafts. When we got home she was down.
I started antibiotics last night but she smells funky ~ not the usual healthy chicken smell~ & I suspect egg yolk peritonitis or salpingitis. Bit hard to know for sure as she hasn't come back on the lay after her moult. I can't feel an egg & her comb is purplish so it may be liver/kidneys/heart. Whatever it is there's no vet till Thursday & I don't think she will make it till then. I am keeping her warm & forcing liquids down her throat every so often but there's not much more I can do I don't think. Although she came with Aoefa she is a much older hen ~ just how old I'm not sure. She's always been so totally feral that cuddles have always been a rarity ~ but this is not ever how I like to get them.

I’m so sorry Ribh. :hugs

Kitten update!

They are now 1 week old! The black boy is starting to open his eyes. Everyone else is still tightly closed.

She has a tiny white spot under her chin and on her tummy.

Peaches is still eating like a horse! She is actually gaining weight, while nursing, I can't believe it.

Loving these updates CCCL. 💕

Peaches does seem to be filling out. What a darling she is.

Is there something the matter with her right eye? It looks a bit watery and semi-closed in this photo. I have noticed it has looked kind of "squinty" in other photos too.

Thanks, Lozzy. She's still with us. I took her out briefly to visit with the girls. I thought it might perk her up a bit. It did, very, very briefly. :( She's trancing though & not really responding to much now.

I was wondering that too.

She seems to have watery eyes. It is all clear and the vet feels it is more likely allergies versus an infection. Since she's nursing and not bothered by it, I'm simply wiping her eyes with a damp cloth when needed.
