Ribh's D'Coopage

At least six months ago I bought a nice squishy/fluffy cat bed for our cats. All of them were terrified of it! They sleep on all kinds of pillows etc, but the cat bed was something super scary. Until today.

I'd sleep in that. It looks lovely & cosy.

Sometimes she will be out furiously digging stuff up and she will literally run to where I am sitting, jump up on the table and yell in my face and then jump down and run off back to what she was doing before.
She politely came over and asked you to help her dig and you ignored her? What sort of chicken parent are you?

Thank you for reading & commenting ACM. Congratulations on being the only reader who's picked up it's directed @ teens. ;) And I am incredibly flattered to be compared to Alan Garner. His The Owl Service is a brilliant piece of writing. Very hard to do well.

What? You're having trouble pronouncing Ben & Robin?:plbb 🤣 I'll see what I can do about the Gaelic. I've tried to keep to fairly straigtforward ones ~ but then I stuffed with this stuff so long I've probably forgotten what a nightmare it can be.
I recognize the dwelling they were using too. I saw it on an archeology program once. Time Team I think .

You really brought it to life with your description Ribh! 👍

I have been nursing sick chickens. Oshina is on 2 lots of antibiotics to deal with an abcess & I found a mite infestation as well. The good news is she has begun to enjoy her twice daily massage as I deal with the mites. She's become a very good patient.

Sif is another matter. Her neck has become deformed & doesn't look like it will right itself. I am monitoring her quality of life. She is still moving around the yard on her own in a lopsided manner & so long as she seems to be enjoying her life she has it.

Poor Oshina. That looks so uncomfortable. Lucky she has such a dedicated chook herder to look after her. I hope it's improving.
Did the vet say anything about using a warm cloth or drawing ointment on it to help it drain? I've never had to deal with an abscess (thank goodness) so am interested in ways to treat it.

Happy Caturday.

Lacy has found an ambulatory cat tower. (Youngest's shoulders)

I did wonder if anyone would notice I based the dwellings on Skara Brae. 😉 It's a site that has fascinated me for years.

Yes, the vet was able to drain some but not all. She's pretty chipper but caged as she's not too predator savvy even with 2 good eyes.
How did she get an abscess like that? From someone pecking her? Looks painful.

Happy Caturday all.

There is a hole in my desk where cables would run for an old computer. Éowyn discovered it the other day and we were playing catch the fingers. It was fun until she grabbed my tape and pulled it down on her head. 🤣
