Ribh's D'Coopage

I wonder if it just really takes a lot of energy to regrow all those feathers. If it wasn't for the whole skinny thing and that she hasn't put on much weight since solving the crop issue, I wouldn't be worried about her at all. Granted her comb is still a bit pale and withered, but from a behavior point of view she seems to be completely normal. She runs, she flies, she digs, she chatters, and she is inquisitive (maybe even nosy).
I will keep on with higher protein feed and be slightly less restrictive on treats like sunflower seeds. But I am not going to obsess over her weight while she is behaving normally (well I will, but I will try not to).
Do you know what? Some people are just lean and others are just corpulent and others are in the middle. Maybe she will always be lean.

Good idea to not obsess.

Minnie may be one of those terrible women who eat like pigs and yet are slender and elegant as gazelles. That is definitely not me!

It's hard not to worry. If it helps, every hen I've known go off their feed during moulting survived. Some get crop issues but nothing too serious.
