Breakfast with the girls.
I think everyone's here. Twenty chickens sounds a lot until you see them like this. Suddenly it doesn't seem like such a lot. ​

Never teach a chicken something you don't want it to learn!
The neighbour my son rents from asked if she could toss the occasional vegetable scraps over her fence for my chickens. After discussing what could & could not be eaten by chickens I agreed.
The girls learnt fast that some truly delectable goodies come to them from the other side of the fence.​

There was nothing there this morning so the whole blooming lot stood @ the fence & screamed!​

Oh that's hilarious!

So true about establishing the right habits. I broke my own heart getting the hens off afternoon mealworms so glad I did it though.

I still give mealworms but only very occasionally & not many @ a time. They are a very special treat around here. Last night it was tuna ~ which they love as much & better for them.

They're so fast to learn new things though, don't you think? Look how fast your lot settled in to their new home! It seemed like they were cool with it within a day or two.
