It's late here and I've been in pain and sleepy today but I got here now so can get back tomorrow.

I am very biased when it comes to Olivia. I think she is the chicken of all chickens ~ just wonderful all round. 🥰 She's pretty, she's friendly, she lays reasonably well, she holds her own in the tribe & is doing everything she should as a broody. I couldn't ask for more.

These threads are easy to lose when you're in a different time zone. A lot of the posts go up when you're busy sleeping.
 
I don’t blame you, and I wouldn’t either after your experiences with them. They are beautiful, but beauty isn’t all that matters. I personally look for hearty chickens for myself.
There is a genetic flaw here, I think.
Yes. My BRs have done really well. The Campines have been not too bad, the Aracaunas so~so ~ all the bantams superb! My Wyandotte frizzles look like being pretty hardy too but the Vorwerks, Australorps & FX not so good. Not sure why the Australorps didn't do well but with the Vorwerks I think the gene pool is just too small to breed consistently healthy birds.
