I suppose you could block off the new nests for a week or so until the crew are in the habit of using their new roostsThey just sleep on the floor of the prefab. As no-one is laying at the moment, I’m not going to put wood shavings and hay in the new nest boxes, but pad the roosts and get everyone used to them. The chook Hyatt will be here either Tuesday or the following Saturday (the roof hasn’t been delivered yet).

She’s got two more doses of her meds to go and she’s really fighting me. She’s still very light, I think she’s about a kilo lighter than she’s meant to me, but she’s been getting stuck into a breakfast of cooked cat mince, shredded cheese and sunflower seeds.
