Ribh's D'Coopage

Ho
I don't think so. They know the neighbour's dog & the fences & gates are pretty good. It seemed to be an aerial problem from what I understood of their behaviour. The Murraya is near a gate so I think they would have moved away if there had been a dog close by. The back & side fences are solid on 2 fences & the 3rd is wire & as they have chickens too the dog doesn't bother them. That's the fence Ha'penny hops & she & the dog get on. Whatever it was they are being super cautious ~ & that is a good thing. Luna & Ha'penny are quite neurotic that way.

It was beautiful! So refreshing for us both. The girl is studying for exams & I have an assignment I am dreading so it was good for both of us ~ only there were leeches. 🤢 Unless I know a track is going to be really rough I hike in my thongs so my feet were quite bloody by the time we came out. The girl got quite paranoid & went so far as to take her shoes & socks off to check for the little suckers! 😆
Yikes! I've never encountered a leech but in my mind, they sit in the Box of Horrors.

How's Oshina today Ribh?

She made it overnight but I lost her early in the morning, just after I got up. 🥺 It was quick but I'm sad about it. She was very sweet. On this block I really should have no more than 12 chickens & I'm nearly @ that. Then I will look @ replacing.

I'm sorry :hugs:hugs she was dear little hen.

I have to lie to Mrs BY Bob about appointments by 30 minutes or else we are always 30 min late. My parents call it Rose Time. Having been to Italy, I call it Italian time.
 The Spanish are much the same. It made planning a day almost impossible.
Strange though, they can get their transport systems to run on time which is more than the British manage
I have a lot, or rather had in the past, problems with unpunctual people.
For me being on time is in part to show respect for the other person and their time. It also promises some degree of organisation which, for the work I used to do was important.

Good grief. I sound terribly old fashioned.

They make a big difference to my mental attitude. Now that the temperature has picked up for spring sitting chatting to the chickens is a lot more pleasant.
I sometimes think I'm too sensitive and should be more resilient wrt the impossibilities my employer asks of me but then I recall the disciplining/curtailing/punishing characteristics of things like workload models and that's when I realise needing a quiet hour or two with the hens is beyond reasonable and really it's amazing I don't have an unhealthier habit.

Oh I am sorry about Oshina.

I have done a couple of long-haul trips since the pandemic started and I have to say, it isn't the same.
I used to quite like flying - the quiet time for example - and I flew enough that I had routines at the airport and in flight that made it all quite pleasurable. But somehow it just isn't the same now.
I find it interesting that so many of those who did a lot of traveling and were of the firm believe that one had to attend in person to do ones job are now doing it without all that travel. My view, the less we travel for work the better. All those air miles and car drives cost an enormous amount when one factors in all the associated costs.
I know a few people who having spent the last couple of years working from home have discovered they don't like the job they do anymore. For some it was the travel and the social contact at their workplace that made the job bearable.
