Ribh's D'Coopage

I've wasted the morning herding Ha'penny who is desperate to lay but deems her whole yard unacceptable. 🙄 She's had 3 goes @ the carrier & managed to elude me twice & go over the fence. It's not going over the fence that's the issue. It's if she manages to accumulate enough eggs to sit. She's back in the cage & I've dropped & secured the lid. She'll never lay there again but for now I can get on with my day.

I did order nesting boxes. They arrived in record time but were not as described & one was mangled beyond repair so back they go. I have somewhere else lined up ~ hopefully proper wood ones rather than chipboard & will paint them before use as @ least one will go outside seeing so many of my girls are now yard layers.

I've also got fake eggs coming. I thought I had another month before the girls started laying again but they have beaten me to it!
That is not well made at all. I'm sorry they disappointed so.

While I was outside enjoying the morning & keeping an eye on Ha'penny, this happened.
It's an absolute first as Beatha has always been extremely unfriendly but since the move she has been approaching me more frequently, just to have a chat & say hello but that she should hop up on me of her own violition is something altogether new!

Marvelous. That is the best! 🥰

Wow! I really liked that one. Interesting opposition between the rather pensive drawing & quite upbeat music.
Thanks Ribh! :hugs Yes, the portrait and the animation are not related to each other; I was just trying something new animation-wise to keep the portraits different and (hopefully) interesting. Really the only video where the animation and the portrait are related to each other is James' portrait (and maybe the kids' portrait as well).

Shoddy workmanship! Hopefully you get your new boxes soon. :hugs

So I've created another portrait video. The animation most of the time doesn't have a connection to the subject of the portrait; I'm just experimenting with graphics so that the videos aren't all same-y. I found some cool tutorials and gave them a try, this is the result. I also went with another EDM track as I didn't think orchestral/chamber music would have fit with the animation. This is 'Portrait of Nina', enjoy!

Tagging @Aussie-Chookmum for when she has a moment.

Do you draw in sections as the video shows? As in don't do a complete outline and then fill it in.

No, I need more practise drawing completely from freehand, which is why I'd like to do some still-life classes but I don't think there are any locally. I do an outline so I know where everything is and even then, I'm not always quite in the right spot for some things. The first portrait I did last year after not drawing anything for 13 years was mostly done from freehand and the proportions were quite out. I will get there, but for now, what I get the most out of it is watching a 3D picture emerge from shadows and shading.

Try your local uni or TAFE as the Art students used to earn extra cash by posing as models. It may not necessarily be advertised but it certainly happens.
