Don’t Leghorns’ combs also flop?
Hmmmm....not always I don't think & if I'm remembering right they don't bunch & flop ~ more like a Campines... I could be very wrong ~ or it could be one of those breed differences between countries we keep noticing.

I have to agree with you. I was quite surprised to learn she was supposed to be a Legbar. She looks all Leghorn to me ~ but what would I know? :hugsI was so hoping for blue eggs for you but just now I'm expecting Glynda's to be white.
I'm actually very worried that she is a leghorn and we will only have a short time together. 😕

I'm sorry Bob. :hugs They are lovely little hens but meddling with their genetics has not been good for them. But chances are she is just a Leghorn looking Legbar.

I dunno. The hatchery makes a big point about this as a specific type of Legbar. There is a whole explanation of the genetics. I would be surprised they would get totally the wrong breed.

It's the comb as much as anything. Where's Glynda's flop? 😉 Lulu is rounder also. ;) She's very pretty. I hope she picks up. You've had a rough trot lately.:hugs
Daisy's comb started out like this.

Glynda looks very similar right now.

Daisy wound up like this.

Who knows what Glynda's comb will look like? Only time will tell.

But she is suspiciously similar to a leghorn right now. I don't think I'd be able to pick her out of a group of leghorn pullets.

I seem to have worded that badly. I was agreeing she is probably a Legbar as stated.

Straight and floppy for leghorns. Here are all of mine from way back.
