Ribh's D'Coopage

Ha'penny & Portia.

I think the girls are pretty happy. All my bantams have been broody since they arrived. Wrold now has ALL the fake eggs under herself.
While they do make use of the entire yard they spend most of their time either under the fruit trees or amongst the bananas. I am down to just 3 standards & they are on the small side. Ha'penny is the last surviving hen from my 2nd buy so quite aged now but still laying regularly.

They look wonderful, especially the banty in the middle who looks like she's gargling!

I've never thought about ticks existing elsewhere. Hopefully the ones there don't carry Lyme disease.
Lyme disease arrived in Europe later than in the US but we have it of course. It used to be rare where I live, but there are more and more cases. It is said that cats are less vulnerable to borrelia than other species, but ticks also carry many other bacterias very dangerous to them. I first feared mine had infectious anemia / mycoplasma from a tick bite and was very relieved the blood tests ruled that out.

New cup! Wednesday Wherever.
