Chicken math :celebrate.... it’s the only kind of math that I can master :gig

Adding chickens is so easy to do, and so hard to accomplish. They multiply much faster than their housing.

How did you go @Kris5902? Tractor all finished? You have chicks arriving early in the morning, don't you?

Tractor done... weather was mostly co-operative, some big screw ups, (ramp is 14x31... I was tired and couldn’t cut straight, husband helped, but I got 12x31 :he) but recoverable... and Crazy Jerk and the old ladies are successfully evicted from the barn and tucked into their new digs. It’s cleaned out. Electric is half ready, I’m going to have an early, early morning, but chicks will be here by 8:30 tomorrow.
:wee :jumpy:wee:jumpy
These three girls are on grass (really on grass, not just a brief “walk” like outing) for the first time in their lives. And Chickie Hawk was almost behaving himself. Girls got almost 1 hr in the new home alone before the little jerk got in.

:lau For things we love so much we sure do call them some horrible names. I was barely speaking to mine [except in unrepeatable language] after I found them in the veggies! Luckily before they did any damage.

Yep! The things I sometimes yell at my cockerel pen right now... well, let’s just say if there are anymore incursions by unannounced (tresspassing!) school groups, they will probably be getting some unexpected language lessons! (Both my grandfathers were sailors, I take after them ;) )

lol My whole family sails [I could manage a boat before I could walk properly] & 2 of my sons are pro fishermen ~ so, lol....

That reminds me: YD insisted on learning German. I found an ex~embassy translator to teach her so she became quite proficient. Then she started singing lessons & her choir mistress [figuring no~one would understand her] used to vent in German. Got the shock of her life when my daughter started giggling. Um, yeah...

I can totally visualize that one! German is a beautiful language to swear in! We get a lot of German WWOOFers, so I switched to Tagalog (I spent long enough in fast food here in my early twenties to get fairly good at that, too), but that gets me in trouble when I visit my sister-in-law and niece... there’s really no winning, so I’m back to plain old English.

It’s a little less satisfying, but much more creative. I try to save it for really special occasions, usually involving my FIL, BIL, the building inspection office, or when I clip my hand with a saw, knife, or hubby does it for me with a drill bit (for some reason getting cut by a Robertson screw driver is worse than something sharp!)

1 hr to go until chick arrival! :) :) :)
