Ribh's D'Coopage

Caturday! What cat doesn’t love a box? Though this one will not be available much longer, it is the wood box for the wood stove.

I have 4 nesting boxes & only 8 hens.
I have 2 nesting boxes for 6 hens. Only when I have a broody I add a small cage as extra laying nest so they don’t need to disturb the broodie(s).

Last May (spring in Europe).

I had blackberry, compost and grass layers in the past. They even went to the neighbour to lay eggs a few years ago. But with a regime to lock them up in the run for a few days, after noticing this, I managed to reduce the ‘laying in the wild’. The neighbour isn’t a favourite spot to lay anymore since they have a Labradoodle.

The dog as pup.
