Ribh's D'Coopage

That's awesome! Does she have issues getting up that high or is this about the pecking order?
I think it's a mix of things, Bob. She's quite high up the pecking order ~ surprisingly so ~ & we are having a few issues just now with challengers for a higher position. Lavender is one who is asserting herself but roosting, she's usually on that 2nd rail ~ with company. Patricia ]mutant barred rock], Lottie [Wyandotte bantam] & Pebbles[Blue Australorp bantam] sometimes prefer to roost there too & Soda [ my largest Barred Rock is often alone on the 3rd roost ~ so the roosting is a bit flexible anyway. But, & it's a pretty big but, Lavender is something of a klutz. Her size, her weight, her feathering, all work against her & she struggles to get to the higher roosts but being a chook she's social & she wasn't keen on being on her own. She probably went to roost late & couldn't get the space she needs to make that last jump.

I prefer all the girls are partnered up. It used to be always Lottie alone on the lowest roost & I always tucked her in under Lavender who has fluff to spare but being a Frizzle doesn't self regulate her temperature well. So I really don't know.

Good morning Y'all!

I hope everyone had an enjoyable weekend. Ours was very busy, but very good.

Rich and Morgan share a birthday, which was on Saturday, so we spent the day at the Mud Bogs! It was so cool to see all the different vehicles try to go through the mud. Some made it, many did not!

Then Sunday we went down to my cousin's and had a wonderful dinner. I surprised Rich and Morgan with a cake and ice cream. It was so nice to just spend quality time together.

Thank you I will!

It was a wonderful weekend. We don't usually get Morgan for her birthday, his ex is just a nasty person, but this year their birthday fell on the weekend the kids were with us, so we made the most of every minute. My house looks like a bomb went off, but it's ok, these are memories they'll have for a long time.

Now there's something I haven't seen before! :D

Happy Birthday, Rich & Morgan.

It was really awesome!! I had never been to one before, but Rich has gone many times. The kids had an absolute blast. Rich even got talking with one of the drivers and he gave Rich and his kids around the course!

It was like one big hillbilly party! LOL everyone was sitting among the trees surrounding this farmer's field. It was BYOB with food trucks supporting the local fire company. We plan to go again next year. The best thing was it was only 15 minutes from our house.
