Duh!I agree. One of my early lot of chickens were rescue ISAs & they were always on the scrawny side ~ & they were very well fed once I got them! Lean, mean egg laying machines have a tendency to stay on the leaner side but even if she doesn't put on any weight she will appreciate the extra attention!I would try to help her put on a few ounces or a pound. If you have the time to give her the extra attention it can’t hurt, but I would never expect her to reach the same level of body condition you see in your other girls
] & she didn't rush into the coop with everyone else when she saw the food being dished out. Being right @ the very bottom of the totem there have been some bullying issues & as I didn't really feel like constantly being ambushed by Suyin & Ha'penny, I decided we'd stay in the run in peace & tranquility & Lottie could eat undisturbed.
I really didn't feel I could fight off the more dominant girls. This awful wog has left me really tired & it is getting cold with the wind picking up when I go to feed the girls just now. All the sun has left the area too so it can be really unpleasant @ this time of year. So I let Tuppence scream.

What type of feed do you give them..? If just layer maybe switch to an all flock of 20% protein... just a thought...
Yesterday Lottie was one of my escapees [the others were the Campines...] & she didn't rush into the coop with everyone else when she saw the food being dished out. Think I'll worm them all too. It's been about six months since the last worming, and that was before Sandy came to live with us.
They eat Laucke's seventeen for breakfast, roughly a cup each.

Seventeen is 17% protein.
And they eat Barastoc's golden yolk whenever they want to. It's loaded into polypipe feeders.
https://barastocpoultry.com.au/our-products/essentials-range/golden-yolk/
Golden yolk is 15% protein.
Not sure if there's a 20% protein food available. If the eggs and salmon don't work, I'll have a look around.

Hope you get the outcome you want.View attachment 1893426
it was going so well. The big girls were in the nesting box, so Sandy had it all to herself. Then someone else showed up and made her nervous - my fault, I'd left the gate ajar.

But in the end - all gone and all of it into Sandy
