I sympathize Bob.
I always feel like I could be doing something else if I'm on the phone. If I feel too antsy I take the phone outside and sit with the chooks while I'm talking

In my old job, I held my monday morning staff meetings on the deck or in the pasture. Folks on the phone got a bang out of all the chook sounds and even found it a special treat when the turkeys would gobble.

With all the talk of conference calls you’re reminding me of our Roomate. He would often work from home, or the pub, and I can’t help but picture him trying to work an IT help desk call or conference call with all my Chooks in the background... maybe it wasn’t such a bad thing that the city had bylaws on no backyard chickens within city limits back then! I had a coop all planned out for the yard, until I looked into my city’s bylaws
