Ribh's D'Coopage

Hey @Ribh , I’m so sorry for your loss. :hugs I’m going to go to the beginning of your thread and start reading but it may take a while to catch up, given it’s nearly 500 pages! In the meantime, here are some more hugs for you. :hugs:hugs:hugs

You are a great chicken friend!

@Ribh here's a fresh sunset for you.

Well I can type an essay on my day and so I will share my misery. It all started Tuesday...

I turned around and pulled into a National Park, Bodie Lighthouse. They had bathrooms and I had water bottles in the car. I sat down to wait it out. Here is my car at the Lighthouse. Later in the day i would start posing it out of boredom.

Oh No! :(:hit The lighthouse is lovely though.

Not just the lighthouse (and I do love a pretty lighthouse)... that is a sweet ride Bob! I never thought an Alfa Romeo would lookthat good in blue, makes the red ones look cheap and plastic.

I have tried to take this vacation 4 times. Out of those 4, I have been called out for meetings 3 times. Unfortunately, they don't care. Regardless of the company line. Somehow I am always indispensable.

So... you also work for Whole Foods? Sorry, I just couldn’t resist the cheap shot at the ex! It’s quite sad how many companies that tout certain values slowly (or sometimes not so slowly) drift away from them. I don’t personally care if my employer cares about my work life balance, values, and beliefs... just don’t say you do, if you don’t! Be upfront and honest in the expectations. Too many employers want to be seen as the good guys, while being truly more focused on the bottom line and productivity (more important to them than employee welfare). I wish they would just be a little more upfront about it.

CHOOK OF THE WEEK.
PEBBLES.

I admit to having a super soft spot for this beauty.
She was the quietest, most subdued little chicken @ the farm but we soon discovered she had loads of personality. From the moment she was released from her crate she rushed around like a mad woman chest bumping everyone & asserting her dominance. From the get go she was a top order chook & what's more she laid regularly a good sized egg.

When I dodged the raindrops this morning she was downstairs with everyone vying for her share of the treat.

We got a break in the weather about mid~day & Pebbles was in the nesting box on top of @ least 4 eggs. I gently removed them from under her but she wasn't a hen to fuss & I gave her a quick cuddle before leaving her to get on with her business.

The weather closed in again & I didn't get another chance to check the girls until feed time. I opened the gate to let the girls have a quick run while I filled the feeders. There was a mass surge @ the gate so I didn't immediately notice I was missing one.

Pebbles was propped against the side wall of the sand pit as if caught in the middle of her sand bath, quite serene but gone from us.

I am devastated. There was no sign of illness. Nothing to suggest she was unwell. Everything was as usual but now she is gone. Such a little chicken, such a big personality.
:hugs :hugs :hugs
So sorry for your loss :hugs RIP Pebbles, you were loved. It sounds as though she passed peacefully, and sometimes there’s nothing we can do to help them. When it’s time to go, it’s time to go... for every creature on earth.

These sunsets were taken by a friend on the other side of the island, but I still wanted to share them with you.

This would be the north eastern side of our island. Sending you hugs and love :hugs

March, and Andrew... if you don’t have a Canadian clone yet, I volunteer! Granted we read usually more young adult/urban fantasy than children’s lit... just the classics when it comes to that.

“The three chickenteers... all for chooks, and chooks for all” hey, everyone needs a motto, right?

I have an Andrew hubby, but my birthday is in June. ;) (These are going to be SO out of sync!)

Thanks @Kris5902

The famous Alfa Romeo designer Enzo Ferrari (he went on to start a moderately successful car company of his own) despised red cars. He said red made it impossible to see the lines of his beautiful creations.

I had to order this car to be made in the color combinations I wanted. Once I saw that blue paint I would accept nothing else. I took second at the National Alfa convention this year to a red one. :barnie

On a personal note: The car is the achievement of a childhood dream. I always wanted to be a racecar diver. This car is as close as I will get. :D
