I love all the exotic birds you share pictures of! So neat that what is common for you to see wild are exotic pets and oddities to us here in North America!

Yesterday I saw a dark shape swoop down near Missy, luckily it was just one of our ravens come to scavenge chicken feed. It landed about 5 feet from her and they had a little staring contest. I was in the trailer observing with some concern, because these are the same birds that will kill and eat baby lambs, and they are quite large, a bit bigger than a chicken (easily Rooster sized) with very strong, large, and sharp beaks.

To my surprise, Missy made the first move... towards the Raven! She boldly hopped forward and violently pecked at it, sending it flying off to sulk nearby and have a drink from one of the cow feeders. Poor Raven looked quite taken aback by the whole affair. Roostie had his girls out and dustbathing under the trailer, but I have to wonder, what would Sammy’s reaction have been to the big black bird? Considering his more agressive attitude towards the other boys, and higher activity levels.

Just for you @Kris5902 : a family of tawny frogmouths.

They lived in one of our trees out the front for several days.

Hello everyone! This post is very PIC HEAVY just a warning.

@Ribh I am so sorry to hear the you lost your sweet Pebbles. I lost 2 chooks just as suddenly. I'm sure isn't easy. I do take peace in knowing they lived their best life right up to the end as I know yours did as well.

I had a busy, yet relaxing weekend. Rich and I had the weekend to ourselves, so we sat by the fire Friday night. Saturday we worked on getting stuff caught up. Finally yesterday we just rested. He is sick with the cold going around. I have a colonoscopy tomorrow morning. Just another test in trying to find out what auto-immune disease I have.

Since that weather has turned, Kitty snuggle season is here!

The boys will eat side by side, but Marigold is still making it known that she does NOT appreciate the new addition.

Thank you for the kind thoughts about Pebbles. She was one of the ones that wormed her way into the heart so always that bit harder. Makes me a bit paranoid about the others. :(

I love kitty snuggles ~ & she looks like she has found the best spot ever! :)

I hope they find out what is wrong soon. :hugs

I am Marigold's person. No one can handle her the way I do. She was born at my friend's farm and developed pnemonia at 6 weeks old. The first night after the vet, I held her upright so she could breath. I honestly didn't think she would make it, but here she is 2 years later.

Yep. They are the best cats, the ones who own you. :D
