Ribh's D'Coopage

Good luck with it Ribh. @BY Bob 's Mal was only crated for a couple of days, hopefully Lavender won't take much longer.
The problem of course is getting my hands on a crate. I can't get one on island & lugging a big enough one from the mainland could be problematic. Which is why I still don't have one despite last year's shenanigans!

I never had any broodies before Mal. I'm not going to fight it. I'll get her some eggs, let her hatch, and then give them away when they are old enough. If I want something in particular, I might stick chicks under her.

Of course I reserve the right to change my mind at any point. :gig
My supplier has offered to get me eggs... But eggs lead to chicks & chicks have a 50/50 chance of being cockerels. Then what do I do? Unlike the states not many people here have hands on experience with butchering their own meat & my supplier already warned me they won't take the cockerels. :( Plus I'm on an island so there's transport... What we need is more land to run a closed flock on. All Campines. Naturally!

lol :lau That's a loaded question. I have one screaming broody & another showing broody attributes also. About to go & shove her off a nest. If she hasn't laid by now ~ tough!
those broody ones can be mean Every time I would try to get eggs, I would get attacked :barnieI agree with you -if she hasn't laid yet, to bad

I used these when Mary was broody and snapping her beak. Lucky I had them handy by the fireplace.
