Ribh's D'Coopage

No electrolytes. I haven't been able to buy them. I've tried a number of times so as to have them on hand. :( She is drinking a little sugared water. She had a mouthful of scrambled egg. I'm not very good at this part of chicken keeping. I so wish there was an experienced keeper round here whom I could go to for advice but the chicken keepers I know are of the *it's only a chicken* variety.View attachment 1998348
Aaww, poor baby :(.. I hope she pulls through :hugs

Janet's also sick this morning - lethargic, pain posture, not eating. I presume it's coccidiosis from digging in the wet ground yesterday. I'll be taking her to the vet - it's so easy for me to do so and I wish you had the same options.
Oh, MJ!!! This awful heat! I'm sure it makes things worse! :hugs Hoping the best for Janet!:fl

No. Her crop is almost empty. She's pretty fluffed out.
Is there anything I might be able to help you with by way of explanation etc?
Most vets, even those that deal with birds, unless they are exceptionally good are only going to pick up the obvious through fecal exams and bird inspection.
A lot of this you can do.
If it's an internal reproductive problem then not many vets are equipped or prepared to do anything.
If her poop is bright green or bright yellow it's often an organ failure or reproductive system problems. Wet poop with bits in can be heat, it can also be worms.

I had a feeling it was Tuppence. So sorry Ribh. I'm glad she's taken some scrambled egg and sugar water. I wonder what ails her. Really hoping she pulls through. She's been slightly off her stride for a while.
She has ~ but improving in some ways, obviously struggling in others. I'll have to move her into the bathroom where it's cooler I think. The heat is really building again & it won't help. :(
