The nice thing about getting new birds about the same time as you & MJ is we're all in the same boat. I know I need to be more patient than I am by nature & take things slowly. MJ has done a wonderful job with her 2. Super impressed. Not sure I can emulate that but we shall try.![]()
Nope.I'm considering Mab for the head Campine ~ if you know the story it should amuse you.
Okay.. this is Bobs thread all over again.... I am trying to catch up and new birds
... I did see and I did know you were getting them and was trying to keep up for when you got them but I am definitely lost.. I keep going back a page and back again till I find when you brought them home.. but haven’t found it as of yet...
Anyway, congratulations! Hope all are working out well.. and settling in... I’ll keep looking...
MJ: I have decided on names, having spent a good part of this morning watching & listening & with some idea of temperament now.
Campines: from oldest down~ Morrigu [great queen], Mebh [intoxicating] , Aife [beauty] They were all queens of Ireland.
Wyandottes are named for the Picts who were little & hidden [supposedly]: Wrold & Alpia
The Araucanas have Scottish names: Beatha [life] Mhari [loved]
Now the Gaelic speakers can all be cross @ me & everyone else can ask how to pronounce them! And yes, there have been name changes. They may change again before we are done but for now....
I don’t acknowledge Valentine’s Day; to me it’s a bunch of commercial nonsense and anyway, I don’t have a romantic bone in my body. That said, if someone gifted me seven chickens on 14th February, I wouldn’t say no.![]()
That’s the argument I hear against Valentine’s Day; it should be all year round, not just one day!
If my hubby wants to show me how much he loves me, he can vacuum the whole house and scrub the toilets.![]()
