Ribh's D'Coopage

Yeh! There's food and water in my coop too, but every night they forget it's there and Every morning they need to be fed :gig
:lau

I don't often offer fresh food in the mornings. It's clean up last night's offerings round here but dinner was too late last night to take the scraps out & the treadle feeder in the open coop needed topping up because there's always something available for anyone feeling particularly peckish. The fresh food goes down @ night ~ mid ~ late afternoon usually. It gets everyone back in the coop with a full crop & ready to settle for the night. I expect them to forage in the day & make sure there's plenty of leaf litter in the runs to encourage it. My BRs are looking like table birds @ present they have gotten so large. Too well fed by half that's for sure!

Last night we went from *pottering along to general destination* to *Pull out the throttle; full steam ahead*. Our middle son flies in from the Cape on Saturday [2 weeks earlier than expected] & wants to hit the ground running & get our sandstone laid before heading south to his own family. So today's mainland trip will include a Bunnings detour to order all sorts of odd bod things. I spent last night crocheting like mad so I could pack up the girl's rug, her dozen eggs & a couple of small things that arrived here by mistake with the chooks, have morning tea with her & hand the lot over. Lad number 3 will be in & out from Thursday to do the bathroom renovation ~ :fl we aren't without water for days on end!
And I found 3 chooks out of the pen yesterday!!! Three! :th Not happy, Jan. :( Both Campines & Lottie. Lottie has discovered the verandah & kept scuttling under there & out of my reach. The Campines raced round the outside of the pen screaming @ me. Gosh, they're noisy birds! Just deserts today because everyone will have to stay in the coop pen until we get home ~ & even then I may let them stew so they appreciate their privileges!:D And it is absolutely freezing here this morning. So not looking forward to today's boat trip.

Nice choices! :D As Bob says, we need pics!
