Ribh's D'Coopage

Morning Jeannie :frow The pavers and fire pit look awesome! I know how hard it is when the kids head home. :hugs Since you love to share your ocean views (and I love seeing them) I thought I'd share my mountain views. My house is 600 feet above sea level and the mountains on three sides go up to 1020 feet. Here are some shots from last night and tonight. Lots of storms wandering about and we got these before the fog rolled in.

oh. Wow! Oh Wow! A thousand likes! Thank you for pics! So awesome. I am a sucker for beautiful nature shots ~ as you've probably figured out. These are wonderful. So beautiful to be surrounded by such lovely mountains. Feel free to post more any time.:hugs

It's 5 degrees at present, feels like 2.1 brrrrr one of my chums lives up in the hills and his hot water system froze yesterday morning! But the chooks don't seem to care, the sky is clear and the sun's shining :) busy day here, lots of chores that I had no time for during the week. Looking forward to sitting in front of the fire this evening :thumbsup
I did not share your temps with the lad this morning. He was pretty miserable about heading off as it was!:( He did put the fire on for me this morning before he left. They don't have one down south so he was making the most of his last morning here. :) The wind has swung round to the ssw so while officially the temp isn't too bad it feels arctic! The girls are complaining. I haven't spent any time outside with them today. [I just keep throwing food @ them :lau ] but it really is miserable outside. The worst of living near water. The temperature can plummet in winter. Tomorrow is a coop cleaning day so I really hope our weather improves before then.

I find goodbyes impossibly hard. Middle lad headed off this morning to his own family ~ & not keen to be heading somewhere as cold as S.A is @ the moment. Most of the Fire pit is done. The bits left our youngest boy will help us with.

Kirby christened the area with a deheaded mouse. I tossed the remains in the chook pen & sent the girls demented fighting for possession of the tiny body. ick!

They are out of sorts. Two eggs in the old nesting boxes, 3 in the new, one dropped casually in the pen & nearly buried in the mulch. *sigh*

I love the circular fire pit Ribh. How did they get it so neat?

Nice area rjohns. I see there's a visiting hummingbird in the first photo!
We have lots of parrots here in Australia but no hummingbirds :(

Mostly Red Cedar, some Oaks and ash and pawpaw.
Red Cedar! It makes gorgeous timber! Is PawPaw native? It gets farmed here but I'm not a fan of it's fruit.
The forests here are what I associate with quiet times, they are my favorite place on the farm.
There'a a lot of shale been spilled through the mangroves here. It's formed a sort of cobblestone walk through the mangroves so you don't sink up to your neck in mud. That's where I go for super peace & quiet. So many birds. Dabbled sunlight. Mangroves quietly popping. Water... :)
