I've got another 140 eggs in the bator. I kept two weak ones from the last hatch but they didn't make it. Just barely enough to fill the order. Hopefully, I'll be able to keep some out of this next batch.

140!! That's huge! How long before they start hatching?

They are due July 9th. I'll candle on the 2nd to see what's developing.

Well, this is something new.. Sunny has a full head of hair! This gal has been having a completely bald head since... well forever! I could never figure it out... now I know... it was Kathryn ... ever since she’s been gone Sunny has been growing her feathers back View attachment 1826347

No hen should be made bald by a bully! Glad she is getting them back!

I'm winding down at work so I can have a stress free week off next week a few meetings tomorrow morning, then home to give the chooks some supervised yard time. Speaking of the chooks, Janet has become a bully at roosting time, so she's having a time out in the little coop, which I've carefully secured against foxes (I hope!)

Apart from taking sunset pictures for us, do you have anything special planned?

I no longer have a bathroom ~ & I keep losing my computer to the boy who has a *Deadliest Catch* fetish that he can only indulge in while he is here. It is wet & miserable & my coop run is sodden. The girls are spending most of their time huddled together under the coop in the sand pit ~ but it's not that big an area so there will be trouble soon unless we get some drier weather. It was the mainland again yesterday: plumbing parts, dentist & wool. we're both over it. Too much time travelling & sitting in traffic. I think today will be another day with the rug [nearly finished] while the lad fiddles with strange contraptions in what used to be my bathroom.
