Ribh's D'Coopage

They are all just so gorgeous! :love.. I especially like Patricia and the white with tan/brown feathers... ?? Sorry, was trying to remember...

I was gonna ask.. who counts their chickens..? I count mine by their groups.. morning and night..

And IT has start... I caught Vinny in the act.. with mama :sick... she wasn’t too pleased.. I’m gonna have to see how this goes.. cuz if it’s a bit much then I’m not too sure how much I can take

I don't have a counting problem, 1, 2, 3, 4. They are all here. I thought about doing 1, 2. 1, 2. But it confused me. Lol

There may be chicken math at Fluffy Butt Acres but there is definitely no chicken algebra!
:gig

I always count. I have several escape artists & Lottie, who is so tiny she can get lost in the crowd.
the white with tan/brown feathers.
Those are my favorelle Xs. They are quite the clowns & very piggy about their food. They are also super friendly & will hop into my lap for a treat. They don't mind some petting either.

Really weird colours this morning...

Also, I've been thinking about how best to house the flock as it expands. I'm planning to add two pullets every two years, so I end up with 10-15 birds. I can always skip a year or two if the flock gets too big.

I don't have time or skills to make my own coop. It's definitely a buy what I need situation. So, I spotted this option on the website you showed me, Ribh: https://www.backyardchickencoops.co...en-coops/products/the-mansion-coop-double-run maybe with the runs placed side by side. So I can segregate new birds as they arrive.

I have the space in the backyard, but I'd have to get council approval first because of the size. I like it because there's enough room for the chooks to roam when I'm not around to give them outside play time. I'd have to fox proof it, so I'm considering using galvanised mesh panels laid down and wired together, and then the coop placed on the mesh panels, so about a metre protrudes away from the coop and half a metre protrudes into the coop. Then I'll cover the mesh around the outside edges with mulch. The idea is that a fox would have to dig through the mulch before discovering the mesh is in the way.

What do you think? Can you see any risks?
