Ribh's D'Coopage

Time to break out the trusty sling shot!
Can’t resust... have to say it! But I thought you all had boomerangs down there for that sort of thing. Sorry again! Did I mention I sometimes have horribly inappropriate humor?

He can do all that too! he completely gutted and remodeled a home by himself. He's build a car from the ground up, and can build absolutely anything!!! Give him a week and your place will be better then ever and you'll have a run fit for queens!

You know Australia is a little cold this time of year... maybe you would like to come see beautiful British Columbia Canada? It’s quite temperate too compared to most of the USA. Don’t forget DH, Kristen has a house that needs building ;)

Sorry guys, been missing the alerts again, and a little wrapped up in the house, and pending hatch, and oh my chickens! The drama, the poop, the Raccoon hanging out with my curvy girls in the meat Tractor at 2 in the afternoon! Like dude, it’s full on daytime and you’re supposed to be sleeping GTF AWAY from my chickens!

@Ribh the hand towel looks awesome, as does the run @CrazyChookChookLady ... take that hawks! No chicken dinner for you, lol!

Not too much is new here, going to put the eggies into lockdown tonight with a final Candling... I think I’ve figured out winter rooming arrangements completely now, including how to put up the soon to hatch littles as well. We have been working at dumping gravel into the spaces between our footings, until around noon yesterday the tractor with the not broken bucket lost a tire, and bent it’s rim up something awful. There’s a fun family story to go with that, but I’ll save my whinging for my own thread. Suffice it to say :he:he:he Andrew is dropping both front wheels off at the shop on the way to work, as apparently they were in such bad shape that this has been “expected” at least by FIL, and are so worn that they will both need replaced. At least it wasn’t one of the rear ones!

With @Kris5902 & Bob hatching I was reminded...

Many moons ago when my lot were little they found an abandoned baby bat. Out here our Native baby bats ride on the mother until they are quite big ~ certainly bigger than this one was ~ so either it had fallen off or something had happened to mum. Being well trained little munchkins they knew better than to interfere without cause so informed me. *sigh* It was clinging to a grass spike & crying pitifully but I hardened my heart until it became obvious no mum was coming for it & its chances of surviving the night in close to zero temps & wind was pretty much non~existant. So we brought it inside & I spent an hour on the phone trying to find a wild~life expert who knew what we should do until they could take it off our hands.

By then, naturally all the shops were shut, all the boats had stopped running & I had a very hungry little bat.

I wasn't farm raised but when I was very little my poppy ran jersey cows & I had stayed on the farm often enough to know how poddy calves were weaned so I pulped up some fruit & dunked my fingers in for the bat to suck on.

Every child in the house naturally wanted to try this, so...oldest first! The bat latched on. Strong suckling instinct. It wouldn't let go & my child became hysterical! :lau It was an interesting night.

Now that is a great story! I can just picture it. :gig

When I first started reading this @Ribh I thought you were referring to your chooks and wondered how you trained them not to eat the baby bat! :D
