Ribh's D'Coopage

Can’t resust... have to say it! But I thought you all had boomerangs down there for that sort of thing. Sorry again! Did I mention I sometimes have horribly inappropriate humor?

You know Australia is a little cold this time of year... maybe you would like to come see beautiful British Columbia Canada? It’s quite temperate too compared to most of the USA. Don’t forget DH, Kristen has a house that needs building ;)

Sorry guys, been missing the alerts again, and a little wrapped up in the house, and pending hatch, and oh my chickens! The drama, the poop, the Raccoon hanging out with my curvy girls in the meat Tractor at 2 in the afternoon! Like dude, it’s full on daytime and you’re supposed to be sleeping GTF AWAY from my chickens!

@Ribh the hand towel looks awesome, as does the run @CrazyChookChookLady ... take that hawks! No chicken dinner for you, lol!

Not too much is new here, going to put the eggies into lockdown tonight with a final Candling... I think I’ve figured out winter rooming arrangements completely now, including how to put up the soon to hatch littles as well. We have been working at dumping gravel into the spaces between our footings, until around noon yesterday the tractor with the not broken bucket lost a tire, and bent it’s rim up something awful. There’s a fun family story to go with that, but I’ll save my whinging for my own thread. Suffice it to say :he:he:he Andrew is dropping both front wheels off at the shop on the way to work, as apparently they were in such bad shape that this has been “expected” at least by FIL, and are so worn that they will both need replaced. At least it wasn’t one of the rear ones!

I've always wanted to see Canada too!! I'd love to spend a week helping to build a house in the middle of no where!! My problem is no money for plane tickets. Although I imagine Pennsylvania to Canada is much cheaper then Pennsylvania to Australia.

Sigh, and there goes that opportunity for skilled help... :p Our two biggest impediments to traveling or Vacations seem to be money, and who’s going to Chicken, Cat, and Cow sit while we are away? :lau Maybe one day.

I have to say I actually enjoyed taking the train on our last trip to Seattle, it was much cheaper than flying, customs was faster and nicer, and it was scenic. I don’t know about the time factor for a really long trip though. The thought of a plane to Australia is daunting, though. Seems like a very long flight, and I don’t sleep on them (found that out the hard way on my first flight, a red-eye down from Seattle to Atlanta).

I have NEVER flown, so that would be a huge hurdle in itself!

Stunning!! Do you travel for these views or are they right there at your home?
We have waterfront facing east on an island. In winter the sunrises are spectacular. I don't know what causes them but the combination of cold & cloud produces some amazing results. :)

I showed your pictures to Rich and he is drooling. I wish we had the money to travel. I'd visit you and Kris, plus other is the US.

Most experienced travelers do stopovers. I never bothered as I do sleep on planes. My oldest girl has to change plane 3 times to get to Chile & it is a drag. Coming home she rarely gets a direct flight to Brisbane but has @ least already been through customs by the time she gets here.

Good morning Jeannie :frow

Long flights are bad, long flights with long stops at airports along the way are far worse. I enjoyed taking the train from DC to Chicago, it was a long trip but better than driving and I hate to fly these days. I'd get on at 4:30 PM, have dinner and a few drinks, watch a movie and go to sleep. Get up in the morning, shower and get dressed and then it was time to get off the train.

Those are amazing. So beautiful.
Thanks, Bob. The man has quite a few but the ones I really like are our natives: they throw long spikes like this one just starting to open now. I'll try & remember to take a pic when it is fully open.

I flew quite a lot when I was younger ~ dad being a pilot & all ~ but I'm pretty happy with anything where I don't have to drive these days. I find driving stressful. I can drive or I can navigate but both I cannot do. :(
