Ribh's D'Coopage

hen I cleaned out under the roost this morning there was blood mixed with her poop.
Ugh. That doesn't sound good.

I've not had to deal with Coccidiosis. Do you get vaxxed birds or not? You are going to need a vet if that's what you are dealing with. Do you have a good one handy?

They were bred by my local saddlery guy. I don't think he vaccinates his chooks , but I was going to phone tomorrow and see if he has medication for it and get him to check her brood mates as I only bought her last week. :hmm

Amprolium ~ blocks the parasites ability to multiply but you want to be sure that's what it is first. Updates will be appreciated. :hugs

Good evening folks :frow

WhoDat, nice play palace.

Isn't it amazing what a sudden change in weather can do to our egg supply... Glad she's back at it.

Jeannie, that looks like it was dropped from the roost. Did you find it early morning? I've found a few like that from my older girls. My best guess is that they didn't get it laid during the day and pop it out after they've gone to roost. And that's just a guess.
Thanks rj :)

I’ve had Mak drop one at my feet but she is a new layer and was unprepared.... but recently I’ve found two of Nilky’s eggs on the ground ... she has been laying for over a year now.. one was in the run by the feeder and one was out in the yard even... I have NO idea what that was about :idunno.... but none broken.. thank goodness!
