Ribh's D'Coopage

I have never been to a professional, or college level sporting event! And never went to any high school ones either, did get involved in a beer league softball team in my late teens, but that was as close as I really got to being “into” any sports!
Most of my lot were soccer mad. We always chose a team to support in the World Cup & got up @ mad hours to watch the special games but we never went to a game. Then my oldest went to Chile ~ one of the super mad soccer nations~ & went to a league game. Insane! They had to leave before the final whistle to avoid the brawls! I don't think she's been to another...
it has been stolen from me by the girl! And the kitties :gig... I promise Bobby isn’t scratching it.. just pawing at it..

They are meant to be used, not admired. :) The girl & the cats are welcome so far as I'm concerned.;)

I do think it’s in the use of an item, as well as the making of it, that makes something special. From a hair tie to a blanket, a bracelet to a purely decorative piece of art, when something, anything, is made by hand there is a kindness and love there that shines through. Handmade items with a function and purpose... be it a rug, quilt, spoon, mug, or such it gains further beauty, character, and personality through use.

I’m still not sharing with the cats though, except under strict supervision for cuddle times. As I’m constantly saying to them “Charlie/Bullet!!! NO! Get down... stop that; see, see??? You’re the reason we just can’t have nice things!” (In my best Jeff foxworthy impression)

I have imbibed the Celtic notion that just because something has to be functional doesn't mean it can't also be beautiful. And their functional every day items are also very beautiful ~ judging by the archaeological evidence.

There are certainly more beautiful things you could look @ but this is today's happy picture. :)

I would disagree with that. What a beautiful photo. Congratulations! It is such a wonderful thing. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.

Three weeks early & so small & delicate! Most babies like falling asleep on me. I must be very dull! :D

I have the same effect on little Eve. When no one else can settle her they give her to me. Right before surgery when she had not eaten in 12 hours her mom could not settle her. She was in my arms and asleep in less than 5 minutes. It is a very handy skill!
