It's almost like I now have different chickens, MJ. When I remember what screamers they were, always hurtling into a fence to get away from me, & running round shrieking like ban sidhe ~ & now they eat out of my hand & let me pick them up without their hearts racing like mad!Aww that's wonderful @Ribh. What a darling little chicken![]()
What lovely, atmospheric pictures!Howdy y'all!
Yesterday was a chilly, rainy day here. Just before sunset the clouds broke and the sun was about to peek through. Anna and I were almost home when she noticed a rainbow! Of course we stopped and snapped some pictures.

And the sunset that caused the beautiful rainbow!

On other news, I saw my rheumatologist this morning. She has officially diagnosed me with Fibromyalgia. As of right now I do not appear to have Lupus or Rhumatoid Arthritis. I am still having a lot of issues with numbness and tingling of my right side so she referred me to a Neurologist to rule out MS.
I have a new medication to help dull the constant bone and muscle pain. Hopefully it helps.
What lovely, atmospheric pictures! That 2nd one is a stunner.
Fibromyalgia ~ are you like me & are happier being able to put a tag on things? Let us know what your management plan looks like. Happy to be part of a cheer squad for you.
Beautiful pics. So far the news is pretty good. I too would like to join your cheer squadHowdy y'all!

That is lovely, Bob. Your girls wake up to beautiful surroundings too.![]()
If I let my girls out in the big run early mostly they are good & spend their day happily foraging & sunbathing ~ until about 3pm. Suddenly a maverick imp sizes 1/2 of them & they stage a break out. Inevitably one of the Campines starts the rush for freedom, soon joined by Suyin & occasionally by Lottie. Three is roughly when I head out to feed them & I swear my chooks are a roo short in their top paddock. Suyin waddles to greet me, clucking happily even though she knows I will grab her & hoy her back over the fence. Ha'penny promptly hops back over the fence as if butter wouldn't melt.Lottie is easy to catch & never a fusser but Tuppence...!!! Mad. Seriously. She sees me coming & heads off on a circuit around the fence. If she sees I have diverted to deal with her sisters she waits before doing this funny little 1/2 run to stay just ahead of me. Inevitably we end up @ the back of the run where Tuppence can be easily backed into a corner from the right angle. She could, if she wanted, make a further dash for freedom by hopping into the garden bed & heading round the coop but she never does. She lets me corner her, then squats. This, the shyest, most timid, flightiest of all the birds I own then does this as I tuck her firmly under my arm. She completely relaxes & as I stroke her neck her lids close & she is never in any hurry to open them again. She just snoozes in under my arm, perfectly content while I clamber awkwardly back up the hill to deposit her in the run ~ though I admit to occasionally sitting in a chair for a few minutes & cuddling my girl. She considered hopping in my lap last night for her dinner but in the end it was too scary & Lottie always gets miffed if anyone else tries to join in on her special status.
