Thanks, Sue, but probably not until the New Year now. My oldest girl will be home in another week. Amidst the renovation s I have to do up a room for her. Probably some over Christmas & then my middle lad in the n.y & later his family. I have to find places to squish everyone in. I'm not very good @ the logistics of these things. Luckily they are used to me.

Father and son work here. I tend to have problems with brothers.
I pretty much convinced that most hatch problems are to do with the type of nest they sit in. This will save me some typing.

In the past, provided the nests are not discovered by predators the hens that sit and hatch in these have a good hatch rate; alarmingly so.

Waiting to get home & read this. Internet likely to drop out between the islands. Otherwise the boat is a good place for catch up reading.

Didn't mean to sound abrupt. Just stating my source. Unfortunately chasing boats usually means I try & be brief & just come across as rude.

They will be here for Thanksgiving and that will be great I haven't seen our daughters family since last Christmas. With the animals , can't really just up and go visiting anymore

I love having them round but as I get older the extra work gets daunting ~ especially with the littlies. Ours isn't the safest environment & my GKs aren't bush savvy.

I have trouble getting my family to understand this too... It not that I don’t want to come visit, it’s that I have 72 birds that need daily care, and you try finding a pet sitter that will do all this properly! I’m not set up in a way that I can just leave for a few days. I knew I was giving up vacations when we got into this, but I don’t think it really dawned on everyone else.

I have trouble getting my family to understand this too... It not that I don’t want to come visit, it’s that I have 72 birds that need daily care, and you try finding a pet sitter that will do all this properly! I’m not set up in a way that I can just leave for a few days. I knew I was giving up vacations when we got into this, but I don’t think it really dawned on everyone else.

Here it just means we don't go away together ~ though the cats pretty much look after the man as much as he looks after them. The chooks.... He's not so good with the chook stuff.
