lol I find entertaining difficult. I don't enjoy cooking & lots of people around overwhelms me. It will be better when things calm down again. You'd never believe I used to work as a houseparent for homeless youth. 25 teenagers for dinner most nights! It could explain a lot...

I rarely cook, but I enjoy helping out in the kitchen. I would rather be home alone than dealing with crowds or going to parties.

That's awesome that you did that that's a lot of teenager's ! Not many people are willing to deal with that many at one time.

Well, I have to too... I have children who have always loved to eat & 3 out of 5 were distance runners so they ate a lot! Luckily they are all pretty good cooks because growing up really wet winter days were spent baking with them. Stopped boredom, cabin fever & everyone being waaay too cold! Now I do as little as possible & if I can eat without cooking I do!

Well, I guess I'm the odd ball... I love to cook. Jeannie I spent a lot of years working with teen boys 14-21. They were frustrating, aggravating, and a lot of other things, but I can't put into words how rewarding. When we lived in Louisiana we took kids from the orphanage on the week ends and during different school breaks. The most rewarding experience of all was a young man who waited for me to return from Korea to introduce his fiance and seek his "parents" approval. He was a really special kid. I'm kind of a believer in the theory that there are no Bad kids, just kids who need something they're not getting. Most of the kids I dealt with from the orphanage had living parents who apparently didn't care or couldn't be bothered to raise their offspring. The psychological issues that raises are huge. I've spent way too much time with pro's in those professions.

Oh and here are some sunset pics from tonight. Real light they are way more red than orange as the pics show.

The majority we dealt with were boys too ~12~16. Difficult ages but the hardest were indigenous girls. Not only did they have a huge chip on their shoulder, they were being sexually abused within their communities, the wider community & on the streets, plus they had no idea about personal hygiene & took offence from me trying to explain what was expected.
Then the indigenous community told us to butt out...

Yeah, politically incorrect but I don't buy into the *poor us* mentality. Study history. Conquering peoples have always been horrendous to those conquered. Not saying it's right or moral, just no~one has a special right to feeling hard done by. But the ones who made me angriest were the parents. One step dad turned up with step daughter in tow & left her on our doorstep even after I explained, 52 hours [it's less now] & she would be street feral. He left her anyway ~ & that's knowing a girl's monetary value on the streets is sex! Last I heard an older man had coerced her to run away with him with a circus & abandoned her interstate with no money, no food, no ticket home!

Chickens are nicer than a lot of people.
