Ribh's D'Coopage

I knew this time would come, my boys are fighting. I have made the decision to remove Breeze from the flock. I've watched them for many months and he is the roughest of all my boys. He was attacking Stanley this weekend. Stanley's comb is torn in several places. He's in a dog kennel in the basement right now.

Stanley is a very sweet boy. He joined us in the living room last night with the cats and dog with not 1 single issue. He also answers to his name. I think he, along with Shadow, will be good roosters for my 11 girls.

Yes Stanley is taller then Dixie. He has ridiculously long legs.

My dear Rich was even happy to see him in the house. He likes to act like he doesn't really care about the chickens, but I know better.

I have been reading everybody's threads today but not commenting...actually not even sure I've liked as I normally would. My doctor has been cutting skin cancers out of my face again & between a morbid fear & hate of any sort of needle & the massive headache the whole procedure has produced I'm not feeling quite my usual chipper self. Normal broadcasting should resume tomorrow. :)

I hope that you feel better quickly. I am sorry you have to go through that.

I've not been my normal chatty self either. I even let a fluffiest butt go unchallenged on @MaryJanet thread.

I had basal cell cancer at the tip of my nose. The dermatologist did a biopsy and then I had mohs surgery. They remove a layer at a time and check all margins for other growth. When all the margins are clear. Then they stitch up, He had to graft some skin from near one eye to fill in the depression on the nose. Not a great job but, better than nothing.

I had been showing the family doctor the red depression at the tip of my nose and he kept ignoring it. When I realized I had it for a year, asked a different doctor to observe it. He sent me for the biopsy and resultant surgery. If the family doctor had done so a year earlier, I might not have need to have the mohs surgery. :rant

The same dermatologist had said I have some pre cancerous changes under a different eye. Because he said Medicare would not pay for pre cancerous conditions he wouldn't do anything. :th

That sounds rough. I'm sorry you had to go through that.

Stanley is handsome and very tall. He seems like a great choice.

Luckily we have a good health care system & after checking me the first time, where we did months & months of cutting pre cancerous cells out, my doctor insists I get checked regularly. I am very fair [Scottish ancestry does not help in this climate] . My doctor is very good & does a couple @ a time @ his surgery under local anesthetic. He also waits patiently while I hyperventilate. I have threatened to make him sing as a distraction... :lau He's Sri Lankan & mostly does karaoke so that should be something.
Gosh, I’m so sorry you have to deal with this... this is so scary to me... prayers to you and @drumstick diva :hugs

Hope you’re feeling better soon, Dr’s are a necessary evil sometimes, and here when you find a good one, you need to keep them. And, it sounds like you have a good one!

I had my Dr from age 6 (a young fresh out of med school Dr) to 11 when he went back for OBGYN specialization. Found him again at 16-20 (I moved to a different city for a few years) then found him again at 23. 4 of his office moves later and two different municipalities later, I was still with him at 35. He’s getting close to retirement, and I live 10 hrs away now... but he has been a great blessing in my life.
