The majority of it should be done by the end of Feb. After that the crabs kick off full on & we'll lose our work team.

Last night Stanley was in the house once more. I just LOVE that he responds to his name and follows me. He has since been returned to the flock and they are very glad to have him back.

I was silly happy when he was crowing for me! My chooks are such a huge stress reliever, I dont even know how to describe it.

Is Stanley a Barred Rock? I get muddled with the birds that all look similar but are different breeds & my BRs have slate coloured legs. That's a lovely crow. He's certainly a good looking boy!

I knew this time would come, my boys are fighting. I have made the decision to remove Breeze from the flock. I've watched them for many months and he is the roughest of all my boys. He was attacking Stanley this weekend. Stanley's comb is torn in several places. He's in a dog kennel in the basement right now.

Stanley is a very sweet boy. He joined us in the living room last night with the cats and dog with not 1 single issue. He also answers to his name. I think he, along with Shadow, will be good roosters for my 11 girls.

Yes Stanley is taller then Dixie. He has ridiculously long legs.

My dear Rich was even happy to see him in the house. He likes to act like he doesn't really care about the chickens, but I know better.

I wonder about my children; I really do. We had chickens for a while when they were growing up, plus cats always & 1 dog, to say nothing of the various wildlife that was in & out of this house but let any chicken escape the run & my kids stand in the middle of the yard & yell: Mum! You've got a chook out! Like, put it back guys.

It's round about 3pm we get the mass breakouts because that's when the girls reckon dinner should be on the table & come looking for me. OK, so they get distracted along the way foraging in the garden but as soon as they hear the tub lid rattle they all suddenly appear. I don't even have to round them up these days, just head into the coop with food & they all come trooping after me. Very Pied Piperish.

I was sitting in the yard with the hens nearby when I played your video. His crow went straight to Mary and Sandy's hearts Mary made a facial expression and Sandy purred! Janet, I'm sorry to say, was unmoved. The pullets were oblivious.
