Ribh's D'Coopage

Good evening folks :frow

Jeannie definitely remember the images of the pied piper... When we used to free range the birds, they'd line up and follow whoever was carrying the feed and go right into their assigned housing.
Bob! Is work still snowing you under?

Yes Stanley is a Barred Rock. He also has a mate, Veronica. Anna picked these guys out last Spring. She previously had Easter Eggers, but they both died before they turned 2. She is so proud of Stanley too!

She's learning about life cycles in school right now, so I spoke with her teacher and we're going to set up an incubator for them with our eggs. I've also gotten the ok to take in a chicken for a visit!
She chose well! :) I think Rocks are very sweet. They were my 1st choice when I started back up & I've been very happy with ours. Their only fault from my point of view is they will go broody in summer! 😒

I love schools that do such hands on stuff though I do worry that the resulting chicks, who don't remain cute & little but grow into proper chickens, end up with decent homes. Not a concern here. :D

Oh My Gosh!!! I want to rub his tummy so bad!!
He'd love that. He's always up for a good tummy rub.
Actually he's in a bit of trouble with every one here. He positions himself where there is high traffic because everyone will stop & give him a scratch. However if they stop before he is ready he snags them with a claw.:lau We've had a couple of *nearly nasty accidents* because people have stopped moving when they thought they were still going forward! :gigHe would be smooched all day if people would accommodate him.

The heat can make things so much worse. I sure hope you guys get some relief soon. I can't even begin to wrap my head around the heat at MJ's neck of the woods.
MJ's heat is horrendous. It doesn't get that hot up here as a rule. We get humidity instead, being more tropical. I can't say I'm a big fan of summer. I like my climate far more temperate but it's what you're used to. I always remember my Poppy saying his 1st winter in Sydney [Australia] he couldn't figure out why everyone was walking round so rugged up! :lau Even @ its worst Sydney had nothing on Scotland. His 2nd winter he bought an army great coat & was more wrapped up than anyone!!!! :gig
