No. 5 of these girls are big foragers. Hence the sand pile. They flattened it quick smart. Maybe tomorrow. Everything is very new tonight.

Yes, I think so. They actually seem pretty calm ~ both lots, old & new. I'm thrilled to have more Campines. I know they're not everyone's cup of tea. They are a lot of work to start with but have so much personality & I'm glad to have silvers rather than Goldies just now because I still miss Tuppence. Ha'penny & Lottie were the ones most interested in the new girls. Breed to breed it seems. The next few days will tell but I think it will work.

Very focused on just meeting their needs this afternoon but the Araucanas seem to be easily handled, according to breed specs, the Wyandottes, less so & the Campines not @ all. They have all really appreciated the sand & leaf litter. The pens they were in were slimy mud baths. Not blaming the keeper so much. 150m overnight for days so everywhere is absolutely sodden. I'm having issues with my own pen for the 1st time ever.

When it rains it pours... my field is still super soggy as well and I keep calling Bob’s girls mud puppies and swamp chickens. There’s not a dry inch in their runs, and the buff girls are constantly getting mud in their beards. I’m moving them everyday, but still, with the level of wet there’s only so much that can be donr

Yes. I have deep litter in the coop run ~ @ least 4" deep~ & i sank up to my ankles in water the other day. It's no wonder my girls have chosen to stay inside!

Today, for the 1st time in over a week, the girls got in some sun bathing.
