Ribh's D'Coopage

After the Drs yesterday we went & bought our lounge suite. You can really be blessed some days. There was only one lounge in the style I wanted but it was in a colour & fabric I liked. Then even with 2 extra recliners added [there are a lot of us! :lau] we came in well under budget because it was on special & had $$$$ knocked off the original price. The salesperson was a bit shocked but we have a very large lounge area. Plus one bedroom is now painted thanks to the girl & the rest of downstairs is pretty much ready to go. This might actually happen...
Be good to have a home again rather then a building site.:)

On the chicken front Mhari is still in jail. She is a stubborn broody but it may not be all her fault. She is still a very young hen, only just starting to lay, & I have been putting her on a roost with the others @ night. I probably shouldn't but I have a real aversion to leaving lone chooks out @ night even though I know the pen is secure. Our weather is very changeable @ present with a big temperature plunge & 30k+ winds tearing in from the west ~ where all our coldest winds come from. In one sense it has really helped the last of the integration as everyone is huddling together for warmth but @ the same time I have moved Mhari after dark each evening because wet & cold is not a good combination. Still, she is now resigned to being picked up & carted round by the dispenser of dinner & that is a good thing so merry~go~rounds & ferris wheels... What I've lost one way I've gained another. The wyandottes are cautiously friendly. Beatha is a very confident girl & the Campines are ok so long as I make no sudden moves & don't look their way. As soon as I get some space the treats will come out & I will do some extensive work with the new girls. I know time & patience is all I need or Ha'penny would still be bashing into the wire too but she is now generally a very calm hen & knows what is expected of her even if she likes to push the boundaries.

It has been nearly a year now & getting worse before it can get better & I don't do well in prolonged chaos. :( I will be so relieved to return to our normal levels of disaster & chaos.

I got so pissed off with it here that one day I just said to myself "that's enough, it's livable in."
I still have missing door and window handles amoungst other things and I've been thinking about doing the tiling behaind the sink. I've got some slate I intend to use. I've left it and left it.

When we re-did the kitchen, the house was a wreck for over three years. Of course we had to do the rest of the house before we could sell it. But then again, it was just the two of us doing the work and we started with all the custom cabinetry. The kitchen started with rough sawn Oak.

ETA: Good morning folks :frow

We did that the first time round. We had 3 kids under 4 in a 25' caravan & one due any tick of the clock. We got one floor down & said: That's it! Nothing ever got finished but it was livable in. This time the man is insisting we finish as we go. I'm not much good with the hands on stuff that needs doing, though I can wield a paint brush if necessary, & hold things while someone else does the important bit, but mostly it's bite my tongue & practice patience.

I will have to do some repairs here but I'm happy with how it looks and mostly how it works.
The lack of a sink splashback is getting annoying now.
