Ribh's D'Coopage

It's too bad they cleaned it up for shipping. I wonder why if they were bee people?
What I think, Bob, & I really don't know for sure, is shipping practices. Our first hive they used cotton gauze to plug the entrances & the propolis was left intact. It was also a fairly young hive. This time sticky tape was wrapped round the hive & over the entrance. I imagine it was easier to wrap without a whole heap of propolis in the way & the stuff gets harvested & sold on to other beekeepers starting up hives. Thems my thinks anyway.

It's been warm and sunny here today. I trimmed most of the lower branches at the bottom of the blackthorn bush and Tribe 1 seem pleased with the result. I think Tap had a nest down that bank somewhere. It's a nightmare job trying to weed the bank but it's going to have to be done and soon.

River was sitting under the compost tumbler yesterday. She made me think of Fat Bird under the fence railing.

Yep. I can definitely mention a couple of differences. I can see the bees here and they sting!:D
I'm not on the front line with the bees. I know a little about them from being backup and reading.
Funny man! :p I figure you've got to know more than I do.

Really. "bees that can't sting." Or are they bees that don't want to sting? Think I'll just stick with honey from the store.
These ones actually can't sting. They don't have a stinger. They aren't defenseless though, Nancy. The European Honey bee is their natural enemy & they are rather vicious. They bite the legs off the honeybee & that's it for the honeys!
