That is amazing. Thanks! You should be able to see the sugar bags on their legs:
Red for resin
yellow for pollen
&
white for nectar.
Thanks, Bob ~ though honestly, anyone who reads here probably knows more about me.
Yeah. They've been super busy lately. We did the eduction last night but it's too early to see how that actually went. I'll get a picture a bit later on but not quite how I was expecting it to go. It is done after dark when all the bees have entered the hive & should be resting but we needed some light so we could see what we were doing & a whole heap of bees came out. That is amazing. Thanks!
When they have so many other places to choose from they must feel really safe nesting in your house.I've had the house nest box stripped out for a few days. There were some egg breakages and once I had cleaned all the mess up I left it bare.
I put straw back in it a couple of days ago and they're queuing up to use it.
That's Tap in there with Moon waiting. I've also had Fudge check it out but she has a stash in the tribes coop atm.
That's Hurry in it in the lower picture.

Don't you have to get a queen in the new hive for the bees to take up residence? This is what we had to do last night:
Remove the landing platform Remove the built up resin @ the entrance [it's super hard] Attach the pipe between the 2 hives Put some of the old resin around the pipe as the scent should let the bees know they're on home ground.View attachment 2129188
When we checked this morning the hive didn't seem active yet but there were a few bees out ~ we assume from last night. John managed to get several to the new entrance. Much excitement so we are hopeful the hive will adjust quickly the new hive establish.
