Wow... you know you have a good bunch of people around you when there are multiple people who understand splicing rope :p or maybe just a bunch of islanders! Since the GMO hysteria hit more people get the term “splice” mostly thanks to genetics and “Oh my, what are they doing to those veggies with fish genes?” But back in my teens (when I was earning $.75 per splice being paid piecework and making $20+\hr at it) when I would tell people what I was doing for work I got a lot of confusion about it. A skill I learned from my paternal grandfather and never though I would use actually turned into a decent paying job.

Good evening folks :frow

Got even better news yesterday... Sue's coming home on the 9th.:celebrate DIL is staying with her today so I can get the truck worked on and rest.
This is the best news! I am so happy for you both. Finally some good food for her as well. :celebrate:wee

A little rest for you as well today. :hugs Cook yourself a good meal as well. You will feel so much better.

No but there was some sort of land scandal back in the day. Some bright spark started selling blocks interstate, sight unseen, & when the new owners arrived to inspect found their *land * was under water @ high tide!:lau The banks have long memories when it comes to that sort of thing.🙄 Now he's making good money it might be easier.
:lau
wow! Talk about unscrupulous real estate deals... here we just have to get lots of geotechnical assessments and engineering done because someone built a housing development in a bad place and when a chunk of their land slid into the water all the houses shifted, significantly and out of level!

Yeah, 50 years down the track we are still tarred with the fallout. 🙄 Still, not complaining. We got cheap waterfront that we could never have afforded on the mainland & a lifestyle that suits us.

The rope didn't stop me short, but the fire place did for a moment! I was like why on Earth would she have a fire going when it's 90/30 degrees outside. Then I remembered, you're in winter! LOL
Ha! 😁 I try to remember where everyone's from so I don't trip myself up that way ~ & also because it is frustrating every time an American gives an Aussie or Kiwi advice on getting rid of their coons & weasels! :he🤣 I try to be very aware this is an international community & my reality is probably not any one else's.
