Ribh's D'Coopage

This always makes me smile. I would be so upset at mine i don't know why I take pleasure in yours getting out, I just do. 😁
I think it is because it is such a regular event - it has a comedic rhythm: they jump out, @Ribh puts them back, they jump out again, @Ribh puts them back, and so on we go.
@Ribh your flock of hussies looks very pretty. As I mentioned on another thread I don't know anything about chicken breeds - but that is with the exception of Campines which I know about through you and find to be quite lovely.

Well, I'd free range them if they'd stay out of the gardens ~ & I did start that way~ but now there are too many dogs & other hazards.

Beautiful day today. Warm, sunny, cobalt blue skies. I could have done and possibly should have done other things but I did a tribe tour spending some time with each watching how everyone was getting on. I haven't been able to do that when it's been silly hot. I just can't cope with hight temperatures any more and I can't fit under the bushes the chickens can.:D
Got five hens having a steady moult. Tackle is still limping.:( There is something not right with Donk. I think she may be depressed because she can't sit. She sees the others sitting, but maybe doesn't realise they don't sit for long as I evict them. Anyway, what ever it is that is bothering her is effecting her eating. Her crop was only half full when she went to roost. I'm going to have to check her daily for a bit.

Oh, I don't even put them back these days. They see me coming & converge on me before leading the way back to the run & hopping back over, one by one. It's hilarious! They know they aren't meant to be out & about ~ but just like children it's a sure fire way of getting some attention! :lau

I find Campines exceptionally lovely. 🥰 I am quite smitten with them despite some less savoury traits. It's a pity they don't lay blue eggs  but then we can't have everything we want in one beautiful package. ;) @BY Bob is going to be kicking himself when Lucky lays blue eggs! :p

I'm not looking forward to our summer heat either. :( I find it exhausting but they are predicting a wet summer & big cyclone season. Down south no doubt they'll have fires again. A lot of people are going to struggle if they can't get this covid thing under control.

That is definitely worrisome. I don't like half full crops. Good luck figuring out what is bothering her. I'm concerned.

They're going to struggle then. Despite all the political bullshit and some rather arrogant statements from some of the scientists you can't control a virus and the idea that anyone is going to produce a vaccine that works in the long term is laughable. People here are getting flu jabs that are no longer effective.
I better stop. I can feel the room temperature rising and I've only just got it bearable after the heat.
