Ribh's D'Coopage

Last night we had a cold front move through. It brought more much needed rain and cooler temperatures. I love Canadian air!!

It resulted in a really neat sunset, the colors weren't super pretty, but the glow of the sun through the clouds was amazing!!

Later that evening we had a dense fog settle over the valley. It's very hard to photograph fog, more so at night, but I think this turned out pretty nice. It's the same vantage point as the sunset picture, just zoomed in a bit.

Wow!

What is a Campine? pardon my ignorance.
The golden is my Campine, Ha'penny.

One of my silver Campines, Aoife.

They have a pretty upright stance like game birds & there is no difference in the feathering between males & females.
Two colours: gold & silver.

They look smart!
They are very smart birds. Ha'penny once secreted 10 eggs outside the run without me ever once spotting her leaving the run & the 1st I knew about it was when she went to sit & I couldn't find her!!! They like to forage & regularly hop my inadequate fencing. @BY Bob is going to be upset if my new run arrangements actually confine my birds! :lau

O no. This is not fun. They must know that it is spring time in your neck of the woods. Time for hatching babies!
Alpia would be a wonderful mother & if I could let her I would. The man even suggested getting some fertile eggs as it's only a matter of time before Hepzibah joins them so I asked him if he was prepared to deal with the cockerels? We're not set up properly for a hatch & I would worry so for now it's still: No!

Meanwhile with the littlies out of the house & my yarn & hooks safe from small fingers I have been trying market bags.

What is it made off? Is it strong enough to fill with potatoes and not break?
I made, or rather bodged together, something similar to carry straw in. I used fishing net. I had a lot of trouble explaining to them in the main house that wheelbarrows really weren't designed to carry loosed straw over bumpy ground. They still do it. There is a trail of straw left behind every time.
