Ribh's D'Coopage

They won't have been cheap to purchase either ~ or they wouldn't be out here ~ & then to just throw them away like that... :idunnoI'll never understand some people.

As best as the neighborhood rumor mill knows, a couple of kids got these chicks from tractor supply and hid them from their parents. How they managed that, I have no idea. Once the parents found the birds they were quickly placed outside to fend for themselves. This only was a for a few days until my neighbor saw them in her bushes.

She then saw some big kids throwing rocks and sticks at them. She got them into her garage and then come by my place to see if I'd take them since I already had chickens. Rich immediately said bring them over. She brought them both over wrapped in a towel and have been here ever since.

It is clear they were not fed chick fed. They didn't know what a feeder or chicken fed was. All they would eat was food scraps, bread and grass. I finally have them eating proper fed.

It is worrying when a person's first response to an animal in need of help is to throw rocks @ it. :( I'm so glad they found a safe home with you & are being looked after properly. :hugs

All I can say is I am so glad they ended up with you. Some people really are terrible to animals (and I am guessing other people too).

I don't know how, but I forgot this adorable picture of Anna and Violet!

As I was changing water last night, Violet kept jumping up on my shoulder! She is just the sweetest little girl. I can't wait until she starts to lay, but I can't imagine it won't be until Spring. I will DEFINATELY be hatching their eggs!!!
I'm so glad you remembered! What a great photo! 🥰
