Perfect. Here grit is a mix tiny shells & oyster crushed up. The girls chowed down on what I banged upfor them yesterday but I think they could probably manage the big stuff. Nothing is real big.

Notice i said "more malleable" not just malleable.I don't know about that, Bob...They're chickens & seem pretty determined to do whatever they like no matter what I say.
Yes, by sitting in them.View attachment 2439030
I was looking at the video you posted earlier Ribh. Can those little feather dusters reach the food in those trays?
It has been very interesting ~ if slightly traumatic. My flock has never been particularly violent, but violence is being done over broodiness. Wrold has gone Alpia too, blaming her for me removing Wrold. Half the flock is now laying under the stairs. This is fascinating. I am very interested to see the flock break them.![]()
So adorable.Leaving the coop this morning.
The first 3 were too fast for me...
The ramp is too steep but even with the lower end raised on bricks it is still pretty steep.
To be clear, I was not upset at you. I just get upset at hatred and spite and wanton destruction. I become a gentler soul the older I get and as I approach retirement and it seems like many people in the world go in the opposite direction.Sorry. Had to vent.![]()
Yes that!Venting is needed or murder might be committed.May all their pants be infested with ants.
It has to be the best sunrise over the coop I have ever captured. Just splendid. I'm so glad I was up to catch it.O.M.GOSH!!! That is spectacular!![]()
Me too. It's amazing! It has to be the best sunrise over the coop I have ever captured. Just splendid. I'm so glad I was up to catch it.
One doesn't have to go for the full on experience. It becomes more appealing every day. Sadly I am close enough to retirement that I do not want to take on more debt and an even up swap for my small house seems unlikely.
I also fear winding up as a true farmer with sheep and goats and pigs. @Kris5902 is a warning to me of what can come from moving to the farm.I am kidding Kris.
Mrs BY Bob loves all animals and sees them as fun, just as your child sees a dog as nothing but fun. And just like a child who promises to take care of a dog, she too would wind up leaving them in my care. Just like the chickens. Not that the chickens turned out bad..........
