Ribh's D'Coopage

It was 6" ~ but the girls have raised the level of their yard by 6" over 3 years. :( They keep burying the bricks I sit their water on & then they just dirty the water constantly. If I raise it too high the Littlest won't be able to reach it...
You could place them on cylinders and put smaller steps next to it.. see mine in these pics...

I stack mine as high as I can get... they can still get dirty but not near as bad! It stays pretty clean mostly...

Do you have somewhere you could hang a waterer?

Ours is hanging from the perching stump

Not in the coop. It would take up too much space. I've considered one of those & will probably get around to doing it in the outside run eventually but I am too tight for space in the coop run.

I wish I could come up with a fool proof way of keeping their water clean. :( It's so gross so fast! 🤢

How high off the ground is it?
I've put the girls water bowls up on cinder blocks. It still gets some dirt kicked into it but not much. Poos very rarely.

They can either make a long neck and drink from it at ground level or climb up the bricks.

Don't feel bad. It's good to know that it can happen. Gives me a goal. 😉
I do wonder about breed quality in the States. I tried to wriggle out of getting a GLW because I knew you'd had issues with Sansa but Gloriana is an absolute sweetheart! Yes, yes, I know each bird is an individual ~ but honestly, I've seen so many mean GLW posts I was really dubious. I would have passed but the man was really keen so against my better judgement... 🤣 and I couldn't have got a nicer bird!

Now that I might be able to do! Thanks ACM!

I really like my nipple waterer. It is clean 100% of the time! I have a small 1 gal one for the silkie tribe and then a 5 gal one for Ned and his ladies.

Can you post a picture? I'm not sure about nipple waterers but it may work.
This is our nipple waterer. Deana uses it the most.

As you can see, the chicken wire supports it well. It used to be mounted to the outside of the nursery coop with the pipe and nipple sticking through the wire.
