I'm Ok, @BY Bob. Knowing she was an older hen & that it was probably fast & she was safe with her sisters makes it so much easier. I know she had a good life with her tribe. It's harder on the ones left behind. Luna takes these things very hard & Soda will have to buddy up with someone else, probably Luna.I am so very sorry for your loss. This is a hard one. So very fast and unexpected.

I probably didn't register as a crowing hen never sounds as full bodied as a rooster ~ but I've never understood people's aversion to a crower. It's no more annoying than cars or trucks or planes & imo far less aggravating than a lawn mower or someone else's choice of music.
And less annoying that a lot of people's dogs.
