I think it comes from sharing a common ancestry. If it reminded the first settlers of a plant from home they called it that regardless of the science behind it. So we have different plants in different parts of the world called by a common name.
I imagine it would make a good salad. One of its names is Hare's lettuce. The young plants look like lettuce but older plants are quite tough. It isn't native but in fact can be quite hard to find as it likes damp conditions. Some years I've never been able to find any @ all because it's been too dry.
Collect some seeds and grow it in the garden for them!
No need when it springs up everywhere after rain. I can usually get plenty of small tender plants from a gentle stroll around the block.
Then there was Lindow man in England which YD did in depth with me as part of her history course but I think I may have bitten off more than I can comfortably chew. I will probably enjoy it but passing it is another thing entirely.

Well, anatomy is science but I like the art anaology. If I think of it like that I might manage to do it.
The 1st bit looks ok. That is proceedures & ethics. After that it gets a little dodgier.

Too dark for the hawk. He's sensibly gone to roost too. Morning is more of a worry ~ which is why they need to be inside.
