Ribh's D'Coopage

Oooh that does look big
Yes & they weigh heavy in the hand. 🤔 Luna is back laying too so I am getting big eggs regularly again. Even Beatha's are larger this season. Hers have always been small medium but this year they are a really respectable size.

I don't know that you have the room but if they only had 2 birds and are getting rid of the remaining one, maybe they have a small coop they can give you to go with the hen.
I've suggested they get an Australorp bantam. Their coop won't hold more than about 2 largish bantams. The Australorps have the advantage of laying well, a good sized egg, & not as broody as most bantams.

Just to be clear, they are pretty good keepers. The girls have the whole yard all day, every day & are only in their coop for security @ night but of course chickens poop a lot & that is an issue for them ~ that & no eggs. They haven't researched & hadn't realised bantams lay smaller eggs less often. I had thought they were just pets but apparently they wanted eggs too. :idunnoTheir daughters are home now so we will see....

The girls out & about this morning.
